What is eCommerce Upselling?

E-commerce upselling is a sales strategy where you encourage customers to purchase a higher-priced or upgraded version of the product they were initially considering. 

The goal is to increase the average order value (AOV) by offering customers better value or additional features for a slightly higher price.

Example of Upselling

Product: A customer is about to purchase a mid-range smartphone priced at $500.

Upsell: As the customer proceeds to checkout, the website displays a banner or pop-up offering an upgrade to the premium version of the phone for an additional $150.
